Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology


The Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology will focus and project the University’s commitment to research in biotechnology by promoting collaborative science and establishing a state-of-the-art campus centered on the research, development, commercialization, manufacturing, and patient care of new, innovative cellular, gene, and immuno-therapies. The Institute will provide a confluence of researchers and scientific leaders from all biomedical, engineering, and chemical sciences at the University and amplify opportunities for students and faculty to be at the frontlines of science and technology.

  • Focus on performing routine research tasks and developing skills
  • Perform tasks as assigned by superviso

Lab Specialist Intermediate
  • Engage in laboratory research by performing complex lab and research related tasks
  • Assume additional responsibilities related to developing, designing, and conducting increasingly complex research projects
  • Perform complex tasks independently
  • Adapt methods and procedures to meet the needs of research
  • May supervise support personnel and manage budgets
Lab Specialist Senior
  • Apply highly-developed subject matter expertise to laboratory research
  • Assist in administration and coordination of the technical activities of a scientific research lab
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and protocols are maintained and applie
Assist Principal Investigators or Lab Managers by:
  • Designing research methodologie
  • Managing research projects
  • Developing budgets and schedule
