Assistant Director, UVA Internship Placement Program (IPP)
The University of Virginia Career Center (herein Career Center) engages and supports students in the discovery and pursuit of meaningful lives. The Assistant Director, UVA Internship Placement Program (herein IPP) is a member of the IPP and Employer Relations teams in the Career Center. The IPP is an academic program focused on placing undergraduate students into professional internships and supporting their experience through an academic seminar. The program aims to provide a tailored and supported experiential learning opportunity to students as they explore their career goals, interests, values, and talents.
Reporting to the IPP Associate Director, the Assistant Director has primary responsibility of organizing and implementing intern and employer account management for the program. The Assistant Director will participate in all aspects of programming and logistics related to the engagement of internship partners and successful recruitment and placement of UVA students in the program.
Major Functions and Responsibilities
Student Service & Intern Management (40%)
- Supports all aspects of the intern recruitment and placement process for the IPP and IPP Global internship programs, including, but not limited to, creation and distribution of recruitment materials; planning and facilitating information sessions; managing application submissions and deadlines; scheduling and conducting interviews; and advising and supporting applicants throughout the process.
- Creates, customizes, and distributes print and digital promotional materials for each program session.
