Pediatric Radiologist, Open Rank
The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a full-time or part-time, CAQ eligible/certified Pediatric Radiologist to join its pediatric radiology division and further complement its busy diagnostic and procedural services. Candidates for this position must have an MD or equivalent degree, hold a Subspecialty (Certificate of Added Qualification) Certificate in Pediatric Radiology, or be eligible to obtain subspecialty certification, and be eligible for Virginia State Medical Licensure. Clinical expertise (inclusive of fluoro, but not IR procedures) and a commitment to the academic mission is essential. The following ranks will be considered for this position: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.The Division of Pediatric Radiology provides pediatric radiology training for the ACGME approved pediatric radiology fellowship and diagnostic and interventional radiology residents at UVA, as well as for medical students and pediatric residents. A dedicated children's outpatient facility, the Battle Building, is a short walk from the main hospital. Dedicated pediatric technologists support X-ray, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound services which are provided in the Battle Building and all modalities are provided in the main hospital. There is a close working relationship between the pediatric radiologists and our pediatric subspecialty colleagues.The UVA Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center, has a busy 60 bed NICU and 25 bed PICU. A busy inpatient service and new-born nursery are staffed by pediatric hospitalists. All pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties are represented and provide care to a spectrum of common to very medically complex patients. Clinical and research imaging technology of the highest caliber is present. The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a full-time, Fellowship-trained Cardiovascular / Thoracic Radiologist to join the Division of Non-invasive Cardiovascular Imaging and Section of Thoracic Imaging in the Division of Body Imaging. Primary clinical duties for this position will include but are not limited to reading all modalities for thoracic studies, including plain film, CT and MRI, and non-invasive cardiovascular (NICV) studies, inclusive of cardiac and extracranial vascular CT and MR. Clinical work will be about 50% thoracic and 50% NICV imaging. Procedural skills are considered an asset, although not a requirement.Qualified candidates for this position must have a MD or equivalent degree, be eligible for Virginia State Medical Licensure, be ABR Certified/Eligible or have equivalent qualification, and be strongly interested in a career in academic radiology. Academic rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.The Division of NICV currently has six faculty members. The Division provides all pediatric and adult cardiac CT and MR studies performing the entire gamut of procedures including stress CMR. In addition, the faculty members perform and interpret all extracranial CT and MR angiographic procedures. The Division has an active research program and 4 fellows. We have state of the art cardiovascular (CV) MR systems (three 3T and one 1.5T) and three 3rd generation dual source CT scanners. Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in diagnostic radiology to ensure the production of quality images of all anatomical structures for interpretation by Radiologist. Replacement justified - Worked FTE's at a favorable 2.86 for YTDESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Effectively operates and maintains required equipment necessary to produce radiographic images.Follows established imaging protocols and ensures image quality standards are met. Follows established Safety Standards to ensure safe environment for patients visitors and staff. Instructs students and residents and performs preceptor duties as necessary. Establishes ownership of clinical area by taking pride in appearance and readiness of exam rooms equipment and supplies. Position Compensation Range: $30.74 - $49.18 HourlyMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education: Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required.Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.Experience: No experience requiredLicensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required.
